BRANDON - The #6 ranked Fraser Valley Cascades came into Brandon Friday night looking maintain momentum and extend their three-game winning streak, and the Cascades did exactly that, beating the host Bobcats 81-61.
The Bobcats got to work early, recording the game's first basket just 10 seconds into the game. Things quickly turned in Fraser Valley's favour, highlighted by a Cascades run over 10 minutes between the first and second quarters in which they outscored the 'Cats 23-5.
Kyle Grewal led all scorers with 24 points, shooting 9 for 13, including 5 for 5 from the three. Grewal also picked up 11 rebounds. Kevon Parchment also finished with a double-double (15 points, 14 rebounds), while Sam Freeman finished with 15 points and Nathan Kendall contributed 12 points.
The Cascades will travel to Regina to take on the Cougars Saturday night. The Bobcats will welcome the Trinity Western Spartans to the HLC Saturday to close out the first half of the Canada West regular season.
