The Bobcats men's basketball team dropped a hard-fought road exhibition game in front of a raucous Lakehead crowd Saturday night 92-69.
Brandon hung tough in the first quarter and led 17-16 after ten minutes. Lakehead would storm back in the next frame, out-scoring their opponent 25-9 in the Q to lead 41-26 at the half. From there on out Lakehead maintained their lead, but had to battle right to end due to a Brandon team that never gave up for a moment. It was simply a matter of execution between the two teams that separated them, as Lakehead connected on 41% of its attempts, compared to Brandon's 37%, on top of a rebounding advantage, and more attempts from the free throw line.
Brandon got scoring production from Ilarion Bonhomme, who got the double double with 15 points and 10 assists. Jordan Reaves scored 14 with 9 rebounds, while Ali-Mounir Benabdelhak scored 11 with 11 points and 2 steals.
