Women's volleyball team cool off the Heat, remain perfect at home

Box Score BRANDON – The Brandon Bobcats picked up right where they left off Friday night, making quick work of the UBC-Okanagan Heat 3-0 (25-10, 25-18, 25-22).
 
Brandon started the match on a 10-1 run and didn't look back, holding the Heat to just one kill in the first set.
 
The Heat hit a negative percentage as a team ( -.043), recording just 23 kills to go along with 27 errors.  The Bobcats on the other hand were efficient, hitting .234 led by Shanlee McLennan's match-high 14 kills. Victoria Dakin had a match-high 10 digs, while middles Alexis Loewen put up six blocks and  and Meaghan Robertson finished with five blocks.
 
Kaitlynn Given led the Head with eight kills and seven digs. Libero Lenai Schmidt added nine digs.
 
The win improves Brandon's record to 5-1, leap-frogging UBC-Okanagan in the Canada West standings as the Heat fall to 4-2.
 
Up next for the Bobcats is a weekend road-trip to Winnipeg to play the Manitoba Bisons, while the Heat will head to Saskatoon to play the Saskatchewan Huskies.
