Men's basketball team push Dinos to brink of extinction

Box Score BRANDON – Although they've been officially eliminated from the Canada West playoffs, the Brandon Bobcats wanted to play the role of spoiler, and did just that Saturday night as the Bobcats picked up a 74-68 win over the playoff hopeful Calgary Dinos.

Fourth-year forward Jordan Reaves had a stand-out game, recording 17 points, eight rebounds and three assists. Fellow forward Isaiah James was chasing down the single-game Canada West record he is tied for at eight blocks, as the San Jose, California had five blocks to go along with nine points and eight rebounds.  Guards Kenonte Ramsey and Ilarion Bonhomme each finished in double-digit scoring at 16 and 15 points respectively.

The Dinos were paced by Jared Ogungbemi-Jackson's game-high 23 points. Matt Letkeman and Thijin Moses each finished with double-doubles for the second straight night as Letkeman put up 11 points and 12 rebounds while Moses added 16 points and 11 rebounds of his own.
The win improves Brandon's record to 5-15, while Calgary falls to 12-8, and with Winnipeg's win over Alberta, currently fall out of the Canada West playoff picture.

The Dinos now play in a pivotal weekend home and home series with the Lethbridge Pronghorns next weekend. The Bobcats will close out the 2012-13 Canada West season at home as the welcome the Regina Cougars.
