Men's basketball team closes season with split with Cougars

Box Score BRANDON – The Regina Cougars picked up a 70-61 win over the Brandon Bobcats Saturday night to close out the 2012-13 Canada West regular season. Neither team was headed to the post-season, but neither team wanted to finish last in their division either, as the two teams entered the contest with identical 6-15 records.
 
The win improves Regina's record to 7-15 while the Bobcats fall to 6-16.
 
Fifth-years Paul Gareau and Sterling Nostedt closed out their CIS careers in style. Gareau finished the contest one rebound shy of a double-double, highlighted by his team-high 21 points to go along with nine rebounds. Playing his final game in his hometown of Brandon, Nostedt picked up 12 points. Connor Burns added a double-double in the win (10 points, 12 rebounds).
 
The Bobcats were led by Ilarion Bonhomme's game-high 21 points. Jordan Reaves added 19 points and 11 rebounds.
