Box Score BRANDON -The #2 Brandon University Bobcats earned a weekend spit, and clinch a Canada West quarter-final host with a 3-0 (25-13, 25-11, 25-21) win Saturday night over the #4 Trinity Western Spartans.

The Bobcats began the first set with a 3-0 run and extended their lead to as much as 10 before taking the first set 25-13. The second set was all Bobcats, but the Spartans battled back early in the third, leading 17-13 late. After the technical time-out freshman outside hitter
Regan Dahl subbed in for Brandon and served an ace to tie the set at 17. The Bobcats didn't look back from there, picking up five of the last six points to win the set and the match.

Vaovai Aiono led the way for the 'Cats with 11 kills, four digs, two service aces, and four blocks. Senior middle
Alexis Loewen added an impressive eight blocks to give her 105 total blocks on the season, setting the school record for a season total.

Sophie Carpentier notched nine kills, six digs, and one service ace for the Spartans, while Royal Richardson added five kills and two blocks. Richardson and Carpentier were the only Spartan players who finished with a positive attack percentage.Â

Both teams hold records of 15-5 with just two matches remaining in the regular season.

Brandon heads to Calgary to face the Dinos on February 7, while Trinity will host Winnipeg on the same night.
