Box Score REGINA - The University of Regina's men's basketball team took a 94-82 win over the Brandon Bobcats on Friday night at the Centre for Kinesiology, Health & Sport.
The trio of Greishe Clerjuste, Carter Millar, and Brayden Kuski combined for 60 points in the victory. Clerjuste drilled five three-pointers and finished with a team-high 22 points, Millar scored 20, and Kuski was a perfect 6-for-6 from the field and finished with 18 points.
The win improves Regina's Canada West record to 6-7 on the season.
The game had nine lead changes, but all of those came in the first quarter. The Cougars led 25-21 after the opening period, then quickly went on a 9-2 run early in the second as Kuski and Clerjuste rained down a trio of threes in short order.
Regina led by eight at the break, then Millar and Clerjuste started a 15-3 run that put the Cougars in complete control. They led by double digits the rest of the way, with a 12-2 run at the end of the third and start of the fourth ending any hope of a Brandon comeback.
The Cougars hit 13 of their 35 three-point attempts in the win, led by five triples by Clerjuste and four from Kuski.
The loss overshadowed a stellar outing by Brandon's
Haashim Wallace, who piled up a game-high 31 points on 11-of-19 shooting. The Bobcats also got a big double-double from
Anthony Tsegakele, who finished with 25 points while leading all players with 14 rebounds.
Brandon, which shot just 2-for-20 from three-point range, falls to 1-10 with the loss.
The two teams will play again on Saturday night at the CKHS. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 following the conclusion of the women's game.
