Box Score REGINA, Sask. – The University of Regina's men's basketball team finished its season with a 69-66 home victory over the Brandon Bobcats on Saturday night at the Centre for Kinesiology, Health & Sport.

The Cougars led by as many as 19 points in the third quarter, but had to hold off a Brandon rally that saw the Bobcats cut the lead to just two on three occasions in the final three minutes. A dunk by Wesley Jones following a missed free throw gave the Cougars a five-point advantage with 22 seconds left that would prove to be insurmountable for Brandon.

First-year guard Brandon Tull led the Cougars (5-17) with 15 points, while Kade Marra scored 13 – all of which came in a spirited seven-minute shift in the second quarter which also saw him pull down four rebounds for the U of R. Brendan Hebert added 10 points, while Wesley Jones led all players with 11 rebounds and Will Tallman fell just short of the double-double with nine points and 10 rebounds.

Jordan Reaves led Brandon (6-16) with 21 points and added eight rebounds and four assists before fouling out on a technical with three minutes left in the fourth.
Ilarion Bonhomme scored 14, while
Isaiah James had a team-high nine rebounds and
Ali-Mounir Benabdelhak finished with nine points and eight rebounds.

Brandon jumped out to quick lead, holding a 12-5 advantage three and a half minutes into the first quarter. The Bobcats led for most of the first and for much of the second before Marra sparked a 21-3 run for the Cougars to give them a nine-point advantage heading into the break.

The Cougars then reeled off a 10-0 run to start the third to push the lead to 19, but Brandon didn't go away. The Bobcats responded with 10 straight points of their own to get the lead back down to single digits before the end of the third. In the fourth, the Cougars got the lead back up to 13 before Brandon's 10-0 run got the visitors to within two points with three minutes to go.

But Brandon could draw no closer than two. The Cougars got the lead back up to six before four straight points by the Bobcats made it a two-possession game, but Jones' dunk and made free throws by both Hebert and Tull combined with a missed Brandon three-pointer with 10 seconds to go clinched the win for the U of R.
