One of the last great football teams in the history of Brandon College and Brandon University. Featuring names like the aforementioned Sitter and Kunyckyj as well as Pete Hagberg, Lorne Lagimodiere, Dave Bauman, and Larry Rodenbush. Led by the late head coach and 2014 BU Sports Wall of Fame inductee Doug Steeves, who was assisted by legendary BU coach Gary Howard and trainer services provided by the incomparable Doc Hannah.

The team went 4-2-1 that season, kicking off the season with a 54-0 thumping over Camrose College. Wins over Notre Dame, Valley City, Minot State followed, as well as a hard-fought 14-14 tie to powerhouse Minot State University.

The little school from Manitoba was undersized compared to most competitors, but the Bobcats played with unmatched heart. The team set a handful of single-game records including most touchdowns (9), total offense (612 yards), and interceptions (5) that would stand until the end of the Bobcats football program three seasons later.

The team also produced a well-known local politician in Rick Borotsik, who went on to be a Member of Parliament, an MLA, and a Brandon mayor in his illustrious career.
