Brandon University Dick and Verda McDonald Sports Wall of Fame
After playing with the Dauphin Kings of the MJHL, Mike Cooper came to Brandon University where he played from 1982-1987.
Â
After graduation, he helped coach the AAA Midget Wheat Kings, and then played pro in Sweden. He returned to Brandon in 1989 and began his career as an assistant coach.
Â
One of his greatest attributes was his leadership ability. He was well respected by his teammates and was named assistant captain during his third and fourth seasons, as well as captain in his final year.
Â
Mike was named a GPAC second-team all-star in 1984-1985, the same year that he was named the Jim Casey and Doc Hannah Inspirational Award winner. He won the Doc Hannah award again in the 1986-1987 season.
