Andy Murray, a former Bobcat football and hockey player and hockey coach, went on to coach in the NHL, AHL, NCAA and is one of the most successful head coaches of Canada’s national team.

As a Bobcat, he played from 1969 to 1973, then coached from 1978 to 1981. A two-time coach of the year, Murray led the team to two league titles, a GPAC championship and a number one ranking in Canada from the 1980-81 season.

As a professional coach, Murray amassed 333 NHL wins and is one of the most decorated international coaches, having led Canada to three gold medals at the IIHF World Hockey Championship in 1997, 2003 and 2007.
