Brandon University Dick and Verda McDonald Sports Wall of Fame
Dave Bauman was the first American born player to wear Brandon University blue and gold.
Bauman, a native of Sheridan, Oregon, was recruited by Wall of Famer Gary Howard in the late 1960s.
Â
Bauman's impact on the Bobcat program was immediate. The six-foot-two forward was known for his textbook basketball skills and more importantly his intense competitiveness and his ability to always play hard.
Bauman was named BU's Male Athlete of the Year three times.
Â
He was also a star wide receiver on the gridiron and caught a Bobcat record 96-yard touchdown. Years later, Bauman was selected to BU's all-time all-star football team.
