Brandon University Athletics

A native of Kenora, Ontario, Degagne has taught in the Brandon School Division for decades. As a member of the Men’s Basketball program from 1977-1980, Rick made a mark in the Bobcat program as an ‘outside shooter’ on the court and a strong academic performer in the classroom. 

Rick was recognized in his first year as Rookie of the Year and was inducted into the Bobcat Basketball Hall of Fame when his 1979-1980 team was inducted.  
Rick’s Recognition as a Community Leader comes from three fronts.
1. International Basketball Officiating including; Olympic Games, Pan American Games, World University Games, CIS National Championships.
2. Coaching approximately 75 teams in the Brandon community and school system over the past 30 years.
3. Leadership in the sport of Softball/Baseball
