Former Brandon Wheat King Ron Gurba played for the Brandon College Caps out of the Southwest League.
 
Gurba started his Brandon College career in 1959 and played until 1966. He led the 1962-63 team in points with 14 goals and 15 assists to total 29 points. Gurba has gone on to teach for many years at the high school level at Westwood Collegiate and John Taylor in Winnipeg.
